Ballarat Cycle Classic is held over two days to raise money for cancer research at that Fiona Elsey Cancer Research Institute. 100% of registrations and donations go to the research program. Road, Gravel, Gravity and family rides are held for participants of varying distances. In 2023, there will be three Gravel Grind participation events with distances of 30km, 47km and 63km to be held on Saturday 18 February 2023. Start/Finish at the Black Hill Mountain Bike Park. A lead vehicle and SAG vehicle will support the participants. The event is not a race. A rest stop with be run by volunteers. All rubbish will be removed by volunteers.

Anticipated participants is expected to be approximately 250.
