Mountain Mist (Quinns Gap) – Bright plantation harvest

November 8, 2017

We will be working in the Mountain Mist (Quinns Gap) area soon

HVP Plantations plans to commence Cable Timber Harvesting in the Mountain Mist area from the 20th of November until late January. As per the attached map, the site includes the eastern slopes next to the old golf course, known as the Quinns Gap plantation.

Please seek alternative spaces for recreation and respect all signage – which is in place for the safety of the public and our contractors.

Logs harvested from the site will be transported along Douglas Rd, Tom Briggs Rd, through the pine plantation and exit on to the Back Porepunkah Rd adjacent to Lowen Drive (as represented by the red line on the map). They will be delivered to local mills in Myrtleford, Wangaratta and Albury.

Please be aware of an increase in heavy vehicle movement into and out of the plantation, increased machinery and plantation road closures in this area. Road closures will include Oregon Rd, Quinns Rd, Tom Briggs Road and Templar Road.

Following harvest, the area will be replanted into pines in the following winter.

Please refer to the map for the areas to be harvested and the log haulage route from the plantation to the Back Porepunkah Road.
