2026 winter harvesting: Slaughteryard Road plantation, Thorpdale
June 10, 2026
HVP Plantations (HVP) will be undertaking a harvest operation in the Slaughteryard Road plantation during winter 2026. We anticipate this operation will be completed in late September.
Harvesting
The harvest site adjoining Slaughteryard Road (and a number of HVP roads leading in to the site) will be closed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for the duration of the operation. Below is a map of the harvest area. Large machinery will be working throughout the site and near the roadside, and trucks will be loaded directly from the road.
Safety
HVP takes safety seriously, please note the following:
- Worksites are hazardous, and risks to people’s safety are not always obvious or visible.
- The worksite is closed (to vehicles and pedestrians) at all times for the duration of the operation. This includes when the crew is not present.
- Be aware of increased heavy vehicle traffic and machinery activity in the area.
We thank you for following signage and the directions from forest operators.
Haulage
Be alert to log trucks travelling to and from the harvest site. Their routes will include the following roads:
- Galbraith Road
- Sheen Road
- Harding Road
- Blair Lane
- Railway Road
- Old Darlimurla Road
- Domney Road
- Darlimurla Road
- Thorpdale Road
- Strzelecki Highway
Please remain alert and drive with care on local roads.
Community recreation
HVP recognises that many community members value our forests for walking, running and bike-riding activities throughout the year. Before entering any plantations, please apply for a Human Powered Pass. It is a condition of this Pass to remain outside of closed areas.
