Plantation Harvesting: Moe South Area

May 5, 2025

HVP Plantations (HVP) will be harvesting eucalypt plantation at Moe South between Moir Road and Moe South Road in winter 2025.

Harvesting

Approximate dates that harvesting will be conducted are mid May 2025 until end of July 2025.

The map below shows the areas that will be closed for public safety. HVP will also erect warning signage and barriers around the operating area to delineate the areas closed. The closure will be in effect 24 hours, 7 days per week, for the duration of the operation, as the risk to public safety is still present when machines are not operating in the area.
Neighbours directly adjoining the operations will be advised via letter drop prior to operations commencing.

Safety

HVP takes safety seriously, please note the following:
• Worksites are hazardous, and risks to people’s safety are not always obvious.
• The worksites are closed (to vehicles and pedestrians) for the duration of the operations. This includes when the crew is not present.
• Be aware of increased heavy vehicle traffic and machinery.
Thank you for following the directions of all signage and forest operators.

Haulage

Logs from this operation will be delivered to local timber processors, including the nearby Maryvale paper mill. Log transport will be via Moir Road and Watsons Road to the Princes Freeway.

Community recreation

HVP recognise that many community members have an affinity with our forests, and enjoy walking, running and bike-riding activities throughout the year. Before entering any plantations, please apply for a Human Powered Pass. It is a condition of this Pass to remain outside of closed areas.
