Upcoming Operations: Clear Spot – Bright
We are working in the Clear Spot Road area of Bright
HVP Plantations wish to advise of forest operations in the Clear Spot Road area of Bright from October 2024 to March 2024.
Tree Harvesting
An area of HVP plantation around Clear Spot Road in Bright is currently planned for a harvest operation, commencing October 2024.
The area will be closed to ensure safe operations (download map attached to the right).
The current crop of trees was planted in the 1980s and is ready to be converted into sawn timber and other building and paper products.
Please visit our website www.hvp.com.au for further information about the plantation lifecycle and the range of HVP operations.
Safety
Safety is HVP’s highest priority. Please note the following:
- Forest operations worksites are closed to all public access for the duration of operations (this includes when the crew is not present).
- Worksites are hazardous, and risks to people’s safety are not always obvious. Some of the dangers are falling trees, dislodged rocks and machines with very limited visibility.
- Be aware of increased heavy vehicle traffic and machinery in the area.
Thank you for following the directions of all signage and forest operators.
Log transport
Our drivers will transport the plantation logs from the worksite to HVP’s customers in Myrtleford, Wangaratta, Benalla, and regional NSW. This will commence in October and will continue through to March 2024.
The transport route used will be Snake Ridge Road into the Buckland Valley, however there may be a requirement to haul through Bright, including Bakers Gully Road, Ireland Street, Anderson Street, and out onto the Great Alpine Road at Gavin Street.
Drivers are committed to safely sharing the road with other users. GPS technology tracks speed and professional driving standards. For community safety, trucks will travel slowly and steadily – for everyone’s safety, do not overtake trucks in the local neighbourhood.
Community recreation
HVP recognise that many community members have an affinity with our forests, and enjoy walking, running and riding activities throughout the year. Before entering any plantations, please undertake a visitor induction and apply for a Human Powered Pass at our website:
